THE PROMISES OF GOD

 

“For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us – 2Coritnhians 1:20.”

God is the Possessor of the Heaven and the Earth. The implication of this is that He has and owns everything. There is nothing too much or too strong for Him. There is no position so high that is not below the foot of God. What we must know is that there is nothing too much for God to do or give. This makes Him special and possibility specialist.

He is not a liar. When He speaks, it is done. This is where we need to give earnest heed to those things which are revealed to us by and in His word. There is nothing too difficult for Him to do. Has He promised you? Most assuredly, He will do it. The Promise-Giver has the answer to all things. You have no need to be afraid about the fulfilment of the promise. There is no need to fret or feel embarrassed as to think it will not come to pass.

The writer of Proverbs says – “

The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD – Proverbs 16:1
.” This tells us that the answer and fulfilment to the promises of God are to come from Him. Do not work yourself out as to think you can work out those promises. You can do nothing by yourself. You can do nothing by yourself. You can prepare for all I care, if God does not give answer, you labour in vain

We have purposes, plans and all manner of pursuits heaving in our heart. The question before you today is upon what are the purposes, plans and pursuits standing? If they are standing upon your intuition, they shall surely fail. If they are standing upon your intellectual prowess, they shall fall. If you think your plans will stand on your budget, be reminded that money will fail. Upon are your plans standing? Nothing else but the promises of God should be the anchor holding your life and destiny.

Search the scripture to know the promises of God concerning you today. Do not be carried away by the comments of friends or critique of enemies. Let not the flattery of the scorner or the accusation of the adversary sway you from the foundational doctrine of the word of God and His promises for you.

How well have you given yourself unto the promises of God? How well? Many of us are prone to believing what the news and media throw at us. Most of us are fond of judging and measuring our life the standard and yardstick of what the economy, environment, parents and financial status are suggesting to us. These are not enough. In fact, they are broken cistern which cannot hold water. They are as weak as reed unable to support anyone who tries to lean upon it.

Come let us reason together. The only sure word of prophecy upon which the entire life of a man must be built is the promise of God. Did God say it? If Yes, then you have nothing to lose because He is not a liar. He does what He says and He says what He does.

Friends are calling you by good labels but if you are a sinner, God promises to judge and destroy you. Believe me, that is the promise God has for you. If you continue in your wicked ways, the promise of God over you is that of destruction, perdition, woes and to perish except you repent, turn and return unto the Lord – “…whosoever believeth is not condemned but he that believeth not is condemned already.”

The children of Levi would have thought that God was cruel and wicked at first for not giving them an inheritance alongside their brethren. WHAT WILL BE, WILL BE Would God that everyone be successful, but surely it has to be done, to be. I hate it when something unpleasant happens but what lacerate me the most is the comment people give as "what will be will be." This statement makes it sound as if we cannot do anything about it. I disagree for through Christ I can do all things. Brethren, if you prepare well, you will be successful, what will be will be. But if you fail to prepare, for sure your failure will find you out.
