BE KIND

“And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise – Luke 10:37.”   The heart and nature of the humankind, right from the time he disobeyed God, has been plagued with wickedness, violence and evil imagination. Words like pity, compassion, love, care, unity and peace are not within his radar. Why would Cain kill Abel or what could have generated into the slavery of Joseph? The summary of this is given as a question – “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? – Jer. 17:9.”   Do you know or have you asked what could have been the purpose God gave His law to Noah, unto Moses and as many that were called are going to be called by Him? Well, if we do not understand or know the whole purpose, counsel or reason behind His decision of giving such commandments, there is one reason we are to be certain and sure of, that is, to be kind to one another.   Beginning with the law He gave to No...

IT IS LEFT FOR YOU

Image
“If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it – Proverbs 9:12.”   It was apostle Paul who asked “…Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?... – Acts. 19:2.” Now, the question we are asking you is, what have you done with the Holy Spirit since you believed? Or better still, what has the Holy Spirit done with you or used you to do since you believed? We know it is God that worketh in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure but as for you, what good pleasure and will has the Lord been able to execute or carry out through you sir and ma? What?   Again, the word of God unto us this day is “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? – Micah 6:8.” Beloved and heirs of God, having received the Holy Spirit, in what measure have you been doing good? See, Christ Jesus’ goodness was not just like that. It...

LOVE GOD

Image
“Whom have I in heaven but Thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside Thee – Psalms 73:25.”   Not many people can say there is none in heaven or on earth they desire, want or need than God. as for Samson, he couldn’t say he had no other person he devoted his times strength, power, desire and will for other than God. If he should say that, then the likes of Delilah should stand against him. Solomon cannot speak about this because he loved strange women too. At one point in his life, he desired another person or thing apart from God.   People like Gehazi cannot make this confession. Was it not for the change of raiment and silver that he forsook the instruction and guidance of his master? Let the Achan be informed that there was something else they committed themselves to – not God. They sought for the accursed things.   There are men who loved their father and mothers, brothers, and sisters, things and possessions more than God. They are not...

SERVE GOD

Image
“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon – Matthew 6:24.”   Oh my people, hearken and give ears to this. O ye men, which is easier, to serve one or two people. Every wise man knows that it is better, convenient and acceptable to serve one person at a time than serving two people. The Spirit cries unto all whose heart is willing to be applied unto wisdom to serve the living God for this is good and acceptable.   Service entails giving or using one’s time, strength and substance (material physical and spiritual) to another person [but in this case God] to show commitment, honour and the degree of love toward Him. There are various ways service can be expressed, demonstrated and given.   God created man to serve Him. In a sense and to a very large extent, service is a form of worship. We can determine the service of any by the w...

GODLY ENDING

Image
“Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit – Ecclesiastes 7:8.”   Everything that has beginning must surely have an end. When God started His work in the beginning, while the first day's works were fulfilled, the seventh day was for rest. It does not mean God stopped working because He is still working even till now rather, He is passing an instruction to us that there is beginning and ending to everything done.   Today, as we consider the message God has for us, it is necessary to remind both the sinners and the saints that surely there IS AN END. Let the wicked and the righteous have it at the back, front and middle of their mind that there is an end. Oh wicked soul, an end will surely come. Are you prepared for it? Obedient servant, there is a day when an end shall come to this toiling and these works. Are you ready for it? This is not the main message before us though. This is either...

THE LAST DAYS

Image
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams – Acts. 2:17.”   As we know that the day is fast approaching that the Lord God of hosts would separate the chaff from the wheat. The day that the goats are to be set apart from the sheep. When the wolves in sheep clothing shall be exposed and the flattery of the devil shall be foiled and exposed – the days is coming.   Yes, we are in the last days. We shall highlight come points which are noticeable or peculiar to these days. We have the positive and the negative ones. There are signs which the Lord has given unto us that are to be used to determine and identify if truly we are in the last days. We shall consider the positive and the negative thereby.   First, hereby we know that we are in the last days, in that the Lord has promised...

EARLY DUTIES

Image
“And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed – Mark 1:35.”   The scripture admonishes us about the necessity of doing things early. This is exemplified in the usage of times and seasons as God had ordained them for us. When God created times and seasons, there must be reason for doing so. In fact, the works of God were confined within the scope of time. This is not to say He is limited by it, rather it is to make us understand that everyday is ordained by God for a purpose.   Learning from the account of creation, we ought to think and perceive God to be the One who loved doing things early. If we can conceive it so, we can establish it thus that He started His work early. As a matter of truth, the first verse in the scripture tells us about how seriously God takes His duties – “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth – Gen. 1:1.” Well, without speaking much of God on th...

HONOUR

Image
“Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king – 1Peter 2:17.”   Nobody likes to be disgraced or thrown into the pool of reproach. To an extent, everyone loves a certain measure and degree of respect, dignity and honour. God’s intention for man is to be honourable. He created us and placed us in a position of honour. That is the reason for the authority and dominion level given unto man. Imagine a person who is fruitful, multiplying, replenishing, subduing and dominating, such a man will be respected among others.   However, it is so sad that sin brought dishonour and reproach to man. Again, I say, sin is dishonourable. There is nothing honourable in sin. Since the Bible says, “…marriage is honourable in all and bed undefiled” , what do you think defiling the bed would bring? Definitely that is dishonour.   Since sin entered the world, honour has not remained the way it is supposed to be. Obeying God is honourable. In fact, obedience i...

LIFE OR DEATH

Image
“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live – Deuteronomy 30:19.”   Since the beginning, this world has been in twos – heaven and earth, light and darkness, day and night, land and sea, male and female etc. This is how the world is fashioned. This possibility of options has made choice available to man. And he has been in the business of choosing one thing or the other.   The matter of choice is such that one is to be taken while the others are left. However, once the choice is made, the person is left to face the consequences of their actions. The same is applicable to the word of God sent to us today. Here we see God speaking to His people by the mouth of His servant that there is life and death set before them. He, therefore, admonished them to choose one and leave off the other. The one to be chosen is the will of God for ...

BE COURAGEOUS

Image
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success – Joshua 1:8.”   To serve the Lord, courage is needed. It is not the kind of courage built by man. It is not a man-made kind of being bold or strong. It is not derived by lifting weight and developing physical physique. It is true that bodily exercise profited little. This profit has little or nothing to do with the form of courage we are talking about.   Courage is not by size, height or position. Any courage that is nurtured because of physical structure or make up is not going to be a lasting one. It is not a courage to be relied upon. There are some people whose courage is built upon their financial status. They become bold based on the amount of money in their account. It is to these people the Lord had to wa...

WALKING BY LIGHT

“When His candle shined upon my head, and when by His light I walked through darkness – Job 29:3.”   Everybody testifies to the fact that light plays an important role in life. What can man do without light? What can animal do without light? Even plants derive their essential nutrients from one source of light or the other. So, it is true in every instance that light is indispensable. All those who think they can do without light are just deceiving themselves. And by the way, even the rulers of darkness need light at least to have work (something to fight against even when they know they cannot prosper or overcome). That’s just aside though. But think of it and may the Lord give you understanding that light is important.   To start with, Jesus Christ told us in His word that – “…Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world – Jn. 11:9.” This is the major aspect of our teaching on light tod...

HARKEN TO INSTRUCTION!!!

HARKEN TO INSTRUCTION There is something about HUMAN we all are yet to fathom to understand. Within the inner most part of HIM, he seems to comprehend and grasp whatever that comes to sight. Which is at the bearest minimum erroneous. NOTE: if we are to act or do things based on what is seen only, assumption will betray us and knowledge with judge us. We all are guilty of this. The challenge here is that, because we've seen something done that way, we tend to repeat it as it was done. That's assumption. Take for instance, you bought a standing fan in market place, you wouldn't need anyone to tell you how to use it right? If you think that way, you're wrong. Instructions are not gotten in COMMON PLACE. They are meant to be followed and obeyed. There's always a cost for getting instruction and another cost for performing it. Haaaa! That's how my father has been doing it. Oh! My mother did it exactly that way. Also, my friends have been following these ...
