BE INSTANT

Image
“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine – 2Timothy 4:2.”   The prophet Isaiah said – “For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth – Isaiah 62:1.” As for us, let it be for souls’ sake, for righteousness’ sake, for the kingdom’s sake, for God’s Name’s sake. The prophet said he would not hold is peace because of his country until righteousness should begin to flow down like a river. His earnest desire was to see salvation become a burning lamp through which the people are given light to see and walk.   Let ours be the same. See what great number of souls perish daily. For their sake, let us be instant in season. See what great multitudes are running headlong into perdition on per second basis and billing! What an earnest call upon us to rush into t...

REVIVED

Image
“After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight – Hosea 6:2.”   To revive is to bring back to life; to restore life, essence, purpose, assurance to the state of the former especially when the former was in a good and acceptable working condition. We all had been like sheep without Shepherd in time past. We have worked contrary to the will, goal, mission, mind, purpose and the word of God. it was just normal for us to kick against His precept, principle, purpose and prophecies. We didn’t want to be numbered among or counted to be with those who associated themselves with God. For this reason, many among us became sick, many more are in the bondage and captivity of the wicked on and millions or billions are died.   Due to our disobedient behaviour and obstinate character, sin became the norm and works of wickedness sprouted up as branches and offshoots. The results are what we see around us – death, famine, war, bat...

IT IS LEFT FOR YOU

Image
“If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it – Proverbs 9:12.”   It was apostle Paul who asked “…Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?... – Acts. 19:2.” Now, the question we are asking you is, what have you done with the Holy Spirit since you believed? Or better still, what has the Holy Spirit done with you or used you to do since you believed? We know it is God that worketh in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure but as for you, what good pleasure and will has the Lord been able to execute or carry out through you sir and ma? What?   Again, the word of God unto us this day is “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? – Micah 6:8.” Beloved and heirs of God, having received the Holy Spirit, in what measure have you been doing good? See, Christ Jesus’ goodness was not just like that. It...

VISION

Image
“And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward – Genesis 13:14.”   Vision, of the major part of it, is the function of the eyes. It is defined to be what we see or our perception of what is seen. Though, vision is defined to be the imagination or the ability to perceive something. But in the real sense of it, vision is ability to see. What is seen and the manner of appearance is another thing entirely. The main definition of vision is seeing.   Today, our focus on vision is how it comes and how it is shaped. The only reason and method outlined by God to shape vision is by the word of God. it was when God said to Abraham or when He sent His word unto him that he was able to see. Hearken, the Lord called unto Him to look and by that reason he saw.   So, what makes us to see vision is by the word of the Lord. Remember, ...

GOD'S DWELLING PLACE

Image
“For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones – Isaiah 57:15.”   Many believe that God dwells in heaven. Well, that is not the whole truth. It is true that God’s throne is in heaven. But you see, throne is just part of a house or dwelling place. The book of Isaiah says – “Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? – Is. 66:1.” So, in this case, heaven is His throne and if we take heaven for throne, throne is not a place to dwell as such. It is a sitting place. So, we can liken heaven to God’s seat.   Jesus Christ gave us an account into the Father’s house which many believed to mean heaven. Jesus didn’t state it categorically to mean heaven though. In ...

WOES TO THE DRUNK

Image
“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit – Ephesians 5:18.” Drunkenness is something that the bible talks about. The scripture is not silent about this subject. The major form of drunkenness recorded in the Bible is with wine. Noah was full of it and he cursed his grandchild. Lot was made drunk by his two daughters. He lost control over his will and mind and he slept and impregnated them giving birth to children who became thorns in the flesh of the nation Israel. Nabal lost his right sense of judgement because of this when David sent unto his men unto him for assistance. In his drunkenness he despised whom he shouldn’t and disdained those he should have been benefactor to. King Ahasuerus was also one by this example because he made a law while drunk. It was a right saying from the mother of king Lemuel that – “ …it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment o...

LIFE OR DEATH

Image
“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live – Deuteronomy 30:19.”   Since the beginning, this world has been in twos – heaven and earth, light and darkness, day and night, land and sea, male and female etc. This is how the world is fashioned. This possibility of options has made choice available to man. And he has been in the business of choosing one thing or the other.   The matter of choice is such that one is to be taken while the others are left. However, once the choice is made, the person is left to face the consequences of their actions. The same is applicable to the word of God sent to us today. Here we see God speaking to His people by the mouth of His servant that there is life and death set before them. He, therefore, admonished them to choose one and leave off the other. The one to be chosen is the will of God for ...

LORD of lords

“These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful – Revelation 17:14.” Jesus shall reign wherever the sun doeth his successive journey’s run. His kingdom stretches from shore to shore till sun shall rise and set no more . These were the words of the hymn writer Isaac Watts. The Lord who created the heaven and the earth shall reign forever and the gods that didn’t create the heaven and the earth shall perish. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the world. He came into the world to save us from sins that through Him the world would be reconciled back to God. His blood was shed to redeem and save those who believe in His Name. hearken O ye people and give ears O the inhabitants of the earth, Christ Jesus is the Lord of lords. Here in this world, there are many things and lords making war against the reign of Christ. The w...

THE SHINING LIGHT

“But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light – Ephesians 5:13.” Light was the first thing God commanded into being in the beginning of creation. If we are indeed children of our Father in heaven, the first thing we must be sure of before proceeding to do anything worth doing is light. We must be fully persuaded that there must be light. This is what we must seek; and we shall have. Without light, the state of all things will still follow the pattern as they were in the beginning – empty, void and without form. It is wise for us not to begin anything unless light is available. Why should we stumble on the way? "But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him - Jn. 11:10." One of the functions of the lights (the greater and the lesser) in the scripture is to be a sign for differentiating times and seasons. However, such light needs the presence of darkness to an extent to make t...
