JESUS HEALS

Image
“Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk – John 5:8.”   Today, we shall be going through the account of gospel according to John chapter five. It is recorded thus that there was a pool seasonally stirred by angel where people with diverse diseases or illnesses would go to be healed. They didn’t just gather there because the water was stirred neither did they go because they wanted to see angel. As good and spectacular these sights might be, those were not the objective of all the sick people there.   Ridiculous enough, there could have been people who came just to see the miraculous and wonderful scene where an angel was stirring the water. Others would be there to see the number of people, that is the population of those present. More so, there could have been some who just came for the fun of it but as for those who were really sick, they didn’t come for sightseeing, joke or to pass time. They came for healing. Do you know what you want?  ...

LOVE GOD

Image
“Whom have I in heaven but Thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside Thee – Psalms 73:25.”   Not many people can say there is none in heaven or on earth they desire, want or need than God. as for Samson, he couldn’t say he had no other person he devoted his times strength, power, desire and will for other than God. If he should say that, then the likes of Delilah should stand against him. Solomon cannot speak about this because he loved strange women too. At one point in his life, he desired another person or thing apart from God.   People like Gehazi cannot make this confession. Was it not for the change of raiment and silver that he forsook the instruction and guidance of his master? Let the Achan be informed that there was something else they committed themselves to – not God. They sought for the accursed things.   There are men who loved their father and mothers, brothers, and sisters, things and possessions more than God. They are not...

SOLDIER OF CHRIST

Image
“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ – 2Timothy 2:3.”   Soldier is a person enrolled in the army for security of lives and properties of his people and nation. According to Joab, a soldier is a person of courage fighting to protect their people and place (nation) from the control and invasion of the enemies. Scripturally, there are people who are chosen from among the people to represent the whole assembly. These men are to guard and watch over the cities and the people for safety. True, if God does not keep a city, the watchmen wake in vain. Nevertheless, the Lord has stationed some people to be watchmen.   As we have soldiers in the physical, so we have them in the kingdom of God. Well, the soldiers in various armies of the nations of the world have weapons and of necessity and importance must have undergone training and orientation for a particular period of time before they can be proved to launch forth into battles. They have t...

GO YE

Image
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost – Matthew 28:19.”   The growth of the Early Church was not without the work of the Holy Spirit. More so, it is by the obedience to the instruction of the Lord Jesus Christ. He told the disciples to go teach all nations. When God wants to fulfill His purpose, He uses all kinds of instrumentality to achieve that even persecution. The Church was established in Jesrusalem. Now, there was a kind of peace because the signs and wonders took place. While the Sanhedrin were proving difficult not wanting to submit to the move of God, the multitudes of the people believed and the word of God increased. After this, there seemed to be stillness. The apostles would not move an inch outside their zone (comfort zone).   God in His determinate counsel had to raise an adversary against them. Yes, He used the tool of persecution to make His people obey His comma...
