 “Though he were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered – Hebrews 5:8.”  Obedience is not automatic; it is must learnt. There is a way to learning it. It is for the sons to learn as the Father teaches. Before we proceed into the teaching proper for today, it is necessary to note that for Jesus to have learnt obedience, there must be something to pay due diligence. Naturally, we were all disobedient. By fall and according to the nature of the old man in us, we are prone to easily disobey and break rules. In fact, this is the reason all men excluding those who are in Christ are called or known as “ children of disobedience. ” This tells us that another mind, man and power is in control of the heart and mind of man different from the will, power and Spirit of the Father. It seems the only thing that does not necessary need learning is disobedience, evil deeds and wicked acts. They seem to be inbuilt or inborn. Even at that people still learn to do them on...

  “And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. – Philippians 2:8.” Previously, we concluded that obedience is not automatic. This is true; it must be learnt. Again, from the teaching we learnt that every good and perfect thing or lesson must be learnt because by nature we were all children of disobedience. Meaning, what we know how to do best is to disobey until Christ Jesus came to give us understanding and translation into the original intended-nature God created for us or created us for. Now, today we shall see one of the ways to aid and speed up learning is humility. Christ Jesus is the only man on earth who needed not to learn yet His was a way to show us the path to grow in God. One thing that we must know is that being in human form entails a lot of things. To be made in this fashion is a sign of humility.
