BE INSTANT

  “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine – 2Timothy 4:2.”   The prophet Isaiah said – “For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth – Isaiah 62:1.” As for us, let it be for souls’ sake, for righteousness’ sake, for the kingdom’s sake, for God’s Name’s sake. The prophet said he would not hold is peace because of his country until righteousness should begin to flow down like a river. His earnest desire was to see salvation become a burning lamp through which the people are given light to see and walk.   Let ours be the same. See what great number of souls perish daily. SOLDIER OF CHRIST

  “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ – 2Timothy 2:3.”   Soldier is a person enrolled in the army for security of lives and properties of his people and nation. According to Joab, a soldier is a person of courage fighting to protect their people and place (nation) from the control and invasion of the enemies. Scripturally, there are people who are chosen from among the people to represent the whole assembly. These men are to guard and watch over the cities and the people for safety. True, if God does not keep a city, the watchmen wake in vain. Nevertheless, the Lord has stationed some people to be watchmen.   As we have soldiers in the physical, so we have them in the kingdom of God.
