REVIVED

Image
“After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight – Hosea 6:2.”   To revive is to bring back to life; to restore life, essence, purpose, assurance to the state of the former especially when the former was in a good and acceptable working condition. We all had been like sheep without Shepherd in time past. We have worked contrary to the will, goal, mission, mind, purpose and the word of God. it was just normal for us to kick against His precept, principle, purpose and prophecies. We didn’t want to be numbered among or counted to be with those who associated themselves with God. For this reason, many among us became sick, many more are in the bondage and captivity of the wicked on and millions or billions are died.   Due to our disobedient behaviour and obstinate character, sin became the norm and works of wickedness sprouted up as branches and offshoots. The results are what we see around us – death, famine, war, bat...

GOD'S DWELLING PLACE

Image
“For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones – Isaiah 57:15.”   Many believe that God dwells in heaven. Well, that is not the whole truth. It is true that God’s throne is in heaven. But you see, throne is just part of a house or dwelling place. The book of Isaiah says – “Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? – Is. 66:1.” So, in this case, heaven is His throne and if we take heaven for throne, throne is not a place to dwell as such. It is a sitting place. So, we can liken heaven to God’s seat.   Jesus Christ gave us an account into the Father’s house which many believed to mean heaven. Jesus didn’t state it categorically to mean heaven though. In ...

SERVE GOD

Image
“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon – Matthew 6:24.”   Oh my people, hearken and give ears to this. O ye men, which is easier, to serve one or two people. Every wise man knows that it is better, convenient and acceptable to serve one person at a time than serving two people. The Spirit cries unto all whose heart is willing to be applied unto wisdom to serve the living God for this is good and acceptable.   Service entails giving or using one’s time, strength and substance (material physical and spiritual) to another person [but in this case God] to show commitment, honour and the degree of love toward Him. There are various ways service can be expressed, demonstrated and given.   God created man to serve Him. In a sense and to a very large extent, service is a form of worship. We can determine the service of any by the w...

GODLY ENDING

Image
“Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit – Ecclesiastes 7:8.”   Everything that has beginning must surely have an end. When God started His work in the beginning, while the first day's works were fulfilled, the seventh day was for rest. It does not mean God stopped working because He is still working even till now rather, He is passing an instruction to us that there is beginning and ending to everything done.   Today, as we consider the message God has for us, it is necessary to remind both the sinners and the saints that surely there IS AN END. Let the wicked and the righteous have it at the back, front and middle of their mind that there is an end. Oh wicked soul, an end will surely come. Are you prepared for it? Obedient servant, there is a day when an end shall come to this toiling and these works. Are you ready for it? This is not the main message before us though. This is either...

NO HIDING PLACE

Image
“Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do – Hebrews 4:13.”   There is nothing new under the sun, said the writer of the book of Ecclesiastes. He didn’t tell us beyond or above the sun though. Anyway, whether we know what is above the sun or not, that is a question for another day. The certain question and answer to this is inscribed without doubt in this wise – there is no hiding place from God. There is no place any man can hide himself thinking or believing he is out of the reach or sight of God.   David confirmed this by asking – “Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from THY presence? If I ascend up into heaven, THOU art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, THOU art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall THY hand lead me, and THY right hand shall hold me. If I say...

THE TIME CALLED NOW

Image
“For He saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation – 2Corinthians 6:2.” Time is passing, so are men with it. One generation comes and another goes but let not any man think the earth shall be forever. There is nothing that will last forever. There is end to everything. All things have their end. Think about your end brother. What shall your end be sister. O ye fathers, should you be put on the scale, what do you measure? And as for you mothers, what do you weigh on the scale of God? You know that you aren’t going to be on this earth forever. Yes, by now you are sure of that. So, before you begin to consider what would happen later, NOW is the time for you to do the examination. Examine yourself whether ye be in the faith. By the reason of our text today, we shall divide time into three parts – THEN, NOW and LATER. What we refer to as “then” is the past. While the ...
