GOD, MY GUIDE

  “For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body – James 3:2.”   There are many things we have been advised, admonished and told to keep diligently, to guard cautiously and to protect passionately. We have the heart – “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life – Pro. 4:23.” We are told to be careful with what we look upon – “I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid? – Job. 31:1” Also, in the words of our Lord Jesus Christ – “…That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart – Matthew 5:28.”   There are instances we are instructed to keep and guard our steps and feet too – “Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil – Ecc. 5:1.” It is not just because of ...

  “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do – Hebrews 4:13.”   There is nothing new under the sun, said the writer of the book of Ecclesiastes. He didn’t tell us beyond or above the sun though. Anyway, whether we know what is above the sun or not, that is a question for another day. The certain question and answer to this is inscribed without doubt in this wise – there is no hiding place from God.
