GOD'S DWELLING PLACE

Image
“For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones – Isaiah 57:15.”   Many believe that God dwells in heaven. Well, that is not the whole truth. It is true that God’s throne is in heaven. But you see, throne is just part of a house or dwelling place. The book of Isaiah says – “Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? – Is. 66:1.” So, in this case, heaven is His throne and if we take heaven for throne, throne is not a place to dwell as such. It is a sitting place. So, we can liken heaven to God’s seat.   Jesus Christ gave us an account into the Father’s house which many believed to mean heaven. Jesus didn’t state it categorically to mean heaven though. In ...

HOLINESS PAYS

Image
“And ye shall be holy unto Me: for I the LORD Am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be Mine – Leviticus 20:26.”   It is a known fact that to be holy is seen as something that has no worth among the worldlings. We cannot blame them because it is not good to cast holy things before dogs. Among many people in the world, the word holiness sounds worthless, old-school and without any benefit. Some even viewed it as a bitter life and difficult lifestyle. There are people who hate the word with everything it stands for. In all these, be ye known unto you and do not be discouraged if you are found to be among the few who believe that God has a plan for approving holiness. Be of good cheer, those who are holy aren’t so for nought. There are some benefits which God has planned for those who keep their clothes white. Did we say some benefits? We mean to say there are innumerable benefits and rewards which God has for those who live holy according to the grace of Chri...

THE WAYS OF MAN

Image
“And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God – Luke 16:15.”   Man was created in the image of God and His likeness. It pleased the Lord in the beginning to create man so. He was perfect (very good) in the day he was made. However, the situation changed the moment the tempter and the adversary of man came to deceive in the place where God placed them (man) in the garden. After this event, there was a huge gap between God and man. Just the way Abraham responded to the rich man – “And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence – Lk. 16:26.”   When God saw this that, it was against His original plan for mankind, He began to implement His purpose of redemption of man from beginning – “According as he ...

LIFE OR DEATH

Image
“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live – Deuteronomy 30:19.”   Since the beginning, this world has been in twos – heaven and earth, light and darkness, day and night, land and sea, male and female etc. This is how the world is fashioned. This possibility of options has made choice available to man. And he has been in the business of choosing one thing or the other.   The matter of choice is such that one is to be taken while the others are left. However, once the choice is made, the person is left to face the consequences of their actions. The same is applicable to the word of God sent to us today. Here we see God speaking to His people by the mouth of His servant that there is life and death set before them. He, therefore, admonished them to choose one and leave off the other. The one to be chosen is the will of God for ...

BE HEALED

Image
“Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed – Isaiah 6:10.”   The real sickness and original state of the same in every man begins in and from the heart. The state of the heart determines how healthy man will be. Do not marvel when the scripture says as a man think in his heart so he is. It is not just thought alone, when the heart of a man is healthy, definitely his body will experience the same. This is the reason the Lord Jesus said – “Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit – Matt. 12:33.”   Having established this, it is expedient to inform us that the first healing God promised His people is not bodily, financial, emotional, mental or social healing. It is not even what we can call in this our dispensation a...
