BE HEALED

 

“Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed – Isaiah 6:10.”

 

The real sickness and original state of the same in every man begins in and from the heart. The state of the heart determines how healthy man will be. Do not marvel when the scripture says as a man think in his heart so he is. It is not just thought alone, when the heart of a man is healthy, definitely his body will experience the same. This is the reason the Lord Jesus said –

“Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit – Matt. 12:33.”

 

Having established this, it is expedient to inform us that the first healing God promised His people is not bodily, financial, emotional, mental or social healing. It is not even what we can call in this our dispensation as marital healing. The first healing in our case is that which originates or happens to the heart. When the heart is sick, the whole of man is sick. When Jesus said that –

“…They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick – Lk. 5:31.”
Why do you think He referenced physician there? Or why do you think He likened Himself to one? We know that He is the Lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the world. Isn’t it? True, He is. Where does sin reside in man? In the heart, definitely. So, His assignment or one of His assignments, is to heal the heart of and from sin. To make it void of defilement and every thing that easily beset us.

 

So, in our text, we read that when God was speaking to His people, when the heart of men is made fat, it is a spiritual state of sickness. There is need for surgical operation to rid the fat off the cauls of the heart. In this sense, the fat signifies sins with which the heart is laden. The level of faith and unbelief men exercise is the function of the state of their heart. So, in many cases where we heard Jesus speaking to the people as touching their healing and wholeness that –

“…thy faith hath made thee whole… - Matt. 9:22,”
He must have been referring to the faith.

 

This day, we must come to Jesus to heal us beginning with our heart. We know that our thoughts aren’t the same as God's, we need healing. Forgiveness is no longer found in the heart of many people because of the hurts and damages they experienced at numerous times and countless number of occasions, we need healing.

 

It is even true in most of us that we have little or no faith that can carry us through and triumphantly over the overwhelming circumstances around. We need healing. And now, we are in the world where wickedness is covering the face of the earth. He that departs from evil makes himself a prey because it seems truth fails. Listen, truth does not fail. The reason we see men embracing all unrighteousness is as a result of the sickness we are talking about.

 

When the heart is hardened, the eyes become blurry and blind; the ears are blocked and heavy. When this is taking place, people will see the signs of God’s wrath and judgement but they cannot understand. They will hear wars and rumour of war yet without knowledge and understanding of the time. When these signs are beginning to take place, then conversion will be far from the sons of men. There won’t be cry of repentance and for revival. And if men do not repent and be converted, God will not heal or forgive them. Then all men stand as guilty souls before the throne of God.

 

Are you sick? Bring your heart to God for treatment and healing by Christ Jesus because out of your heart flows all issues of life.
