LORD of lords
“These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful – Revelation 17:14.”
Jesus shall reign wherever the sun doeth his
successive journey’s run. His kingdom stretches from shore to shore till sun
shall rise and set no more. These were the words of the hymn writer Isaac
Watts. The Lord who created the heaven and the earth shall reign forever and
the gods that didn’t create the heaven and the earth shall perish.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God which
taketh away the sins of the world. He came into the world to save us from sins
that through Him the world would be reconciled back to God. His blood was shed
to redeem and save those who believe in His Name. hearken O ye people and give
ears O the inhabitants of the earth, Christ Jesus is the Lord of lords.
Here in this world, there are many things and
lords making war against the reign of Christ. The world, the flesh, the Satan
dwells around this path we tread. Our pilgrimage on earth is such that there
are thistles and pricks on the way. There are many things besieging Christian
on his way to the celestial city not to talk of the gods of this world – the
Beelzebubs and the Apollyons.
There are
billions in the world dying under the weight of sin and load of care. The
prince of this world is lording it over them. They are under the rule and
dominion of darkness. As a matter of truth, there are principalities who have
taken it upon themselves to be lords over millions or billions of people in the
world. Listen carefully, there are princes of Persia, as well as that of
America, of Nigeria, of whatever nation you are presently. They are after the
elects.
As it was
with the people of Israel right from the days of Moses up until the time of
king Zedekiah, they were emptied from vessel to vessel. Pharoah reigned over
them in Egypt. Jabin oppressed them in Midian. Balak harassed them with
soothsaying. Benhadad later came from Assyria to frighten them in the days of
the kings. Likewise in the days of
Hezekiah, Sennacherib king of Assyria came. Nebuchadnezzar king od Babylon also
took the people of the inheritance of the Lord captives to the land of the
north.
All these
happened to God’s people because they forsook the Rock of their Salvation. They
left the Fountain of Living Waters and made unto themselves cisterns, broken
cisterns which could hold no water. As much as the oppression and persecution
against the people of the Lord are real, more real is the presence of the Lord
with the remnants. There are remnants among God’s people. Though other lords
had been oppressing the whole land but as touching the remnants, the Lord of
hosts will arise to defend them. The question is are you in the number?
Kingdoms have come and gone. Kings came and are no more. Emperors and rulers had been around and are no more. We have heard about the exploits of Alexander the Great, the audacity of Nero, the wisdom of the Greek philosophers and many more. Listen, they are flesh and not spirit. They are men and not God. But there is only one Lord, one Father, one hope and one faith. He is the Lord of lords. Whether the world likes it or not, He shall surely reign and rule over all. All kingdoms and their kings shall bow down before Him casting down their crowns before Him. Once again and forever it shall be sounded aloud throughout the heavens and the earth and to the uttermost part of the world –
“…The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever – Rev. 11:15.”This shall be the judgement of Christ Jesus over all nations, and people that will not submit to His Lordship –
“But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me – Lk. 19:27.”Jesus Christ is the Lord of lords. I counsel you today to agree with Him quickly while thou hath on the way with Him lest He commit you to The Judge. For whether men are in heaven or hell, He will surely rule and reign as Lord over all and as the Lord of all.
LORDSHIP GREETINGS
