LIFE ETERNAL
From every fear and in all joy, God remains the same and not just that but always faithful. In every trial and in victories, there is no form of variableness with Him. He loves us. He loves all. Of a truth, He loves us to the end. How many of us know how far the end is, yet He loves us to that point. As far as the east is to the west, in like manner and the same dimension, He has taken away our iniquities. What do we have to show for this? Shouldn't it be glaring in all that we do that we are indeed grateful? For peace and good health, provision and strength. Willingness to do the Will of God in perfect obedience is not an ordinary virtue, yet He gives to us His Spirit that we always carry out the real purpose we have been created for. Hallelujah!!!
AND MANY OF THEM THAT SLEEP IN THE DUST OF THE EARTH SHALL AWAKE, SOME TO EVERLASTING LIFE, AND SOME TO SHAME AND EVERLASTING CONTEMPT - Daniel 12:2.
In case we have forgotten that there is such a thing called "EVERLASTHING",
It is becoming clearer and clearer by the day about the way many of us have chosen to live. What about that? We live as if it is only in this world we have hope. We give most of our time to pleasure and leisure. And others are for work, work and work. Always working. What kind of work? Works that would only end HERE. Yes, here and right now! Jesus has warned us about this. How faithful have we been heeding to the warning?
THEN ANSWERED PETER AND SAID UNTO HIM, BEHOLD, WE HAVE FORSAKEN ALL, AND FOLLOWED THEE; WHAT SHALL WE HAVE THEREFORE? - Matthew 19:27
If there is one thing common to man, it's a phenomenal question of "WHAT IS MY GAIN?" We hear this question often that it is asked. On internet, radio, television and others. Even when an advertisement is on, it is always trying to tell us about what we stand to gain. Has anyone noticed that this era is much more concerned about what we have to gain or lose? We kind of ask questions such as, "if I do this what would you give me", "if I should go there, what would be my rewards", "by doing so, what should I be expecting in returning." This scenario is delving virtually into every aspect. In academics or institution of learning there is a negative form of this called, "Sex for Mark." In finance it has transformed into "bribery and corruption." And others...
Everyone just want to know what we shall gain or have as rewards, so eagerly and sometimes desperately. Some of these do come in form of money, promotion, appointment, position, lust (in kind, they call it, in cash or in kind), results, and others. It is being wired in our mind, we hear it in songs, we do it in dance, we rehearse them in thought and by heart. Always wanting to know what is therein to gain.
However, in all that we seek, there is just one thing that we are all after. So we seek for it in pleasure, activities, works, actions and behaviours. What could that be? Eternal Life! That is what we are looking for... All of us. But the tragedy is that we seek for it in different ways and yet there is only one way to it.
WHO SHALL NOT RECEIVE MANIFOLD MORE IN THIS PRESENT TIME, AND IN THE WORLD TO COME LIFE EVERLASTING - Luke 18:30.
This takes us to the next phase. Oftentimes, people have been asking, "why must I serve God or do His will?" They asked this because, one of their major reasons is, "if I don't serve Him, I will be rich, I will have cars, I will have children, I will have money, I will marry... In fact I'll do and have everything without serving Him as much as many who are serving Him." True Sir. True Ma. I have a question for you, "and what?" After all said and done, stating the things you have, what else do you think you need which you don't have? Do you know?
Before we conclude, the reason this set of people are holding unto this damnable belief and questionable wellbeing is because we are only preaching the Gospel of "if you accept Jesus, you'll be rich", "once you give your life to God, He will promote you." Many more are into this things (we're not blaming anyone now) such as, "if you want to marry come to Jesus, you'll get married", "those seeking for jobs too should come they would get employed." Tell me is this what the Gospel is all about? We are not saying all these things are not true. Without doubt if you come to God through Jesus by believing, you will have them. But there is one thing also, all these things can be acquired from other sources. People can go to herbalist and they get rich. Some may go to fetish doctors and get pregnant, others may use diabolical means to get money, wealth, and other things such as promotion and the likes even without believing in God at all. This is because we are not paying attention to what other means and methods cannot give us. THEY CAN'T GIVE US ETERNAL LIFE. Money, yes, it's within their reach, likewise children and other earthly things afford. None of them can give us eternal life. If we continue to preach the Jesus that gives cars and not eternal life. People sooner or later would only know "JESUS THE CAR GIVER" and not the SAVIOUR and ETERNAL LIFE.
It's high time we began to come to God in absolute obedience not just for this or that but for ETERNAL LIFE. None of the idols on earth or in the universe can give us that. Do you need children, some idols and shrines can give them. They won't last though. But since you're desperate, that can fill up the desperation in you even if it can't satisfy. If you need money, some friends, relatives or spouses can help out with that, likewise jobs, appointment, clothes and others. But there is one thing that you need which they don't have. You need Eternal Life. I need Eternal Life - "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."
It's as if it is thrown at you but "DO YOU REALLY NEED ETERNAL LIFE." I think you need it. It is the answer to the questions of our life.
