JESUS HAD SAID IT – Part VI

(The Concluding Part – His Coming)

The mighty hand of God in our lives is incomparable, always showing up for us. His wonderful hand heals and cures us of all our infirmities and diseases. Without God or if not for Him, who could or would have saved us. None! Again, nobody! Have you seen any? Have you heard about anyone capable of doing these things? When counting all God has done and all He’s doing for us, it is not a byword or flattery to say, “His love is so great, very great.” Who is that person harnessed enough to quantify and measure the handywork of God in a scale – innumerable works! When our enemies, our foes rise up against us to see our end, or when they ask, “where is our God?” The God says, “I’m just starting with you.” What a merciful God! Great God with a great love – how great Thou art?

AND THEN SHALL APPEAR THE SIGN OF THE SON OF MAN IN HEAVEN: AND THEN SHALL ALL THE TRIBES OF THE EARTH MOURN, AND THEY SHALL SEE THE SON OF MAN COMING IN THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN WITH POWER AND GREAT GLORY – Matthew 24:30

Hello! Are you there? How many of us still believe that Jesus is coming back, that the Saviour of the world is coming? It is not a fable. It is not a lie. It is the Truth. I repeat, that’s the Truth. He is coming. He is gonna come in the cloud, with angels and shout. If you are allergic to shouting, please don’t come on that day. You are not invited because angels would be there blowing their heads off with trumpets. A great shout that would be! That’s just by the way. What a glorious appearing. Hallelujah! It is another topic of debate to many of us here on earth as to when or whether or not He would come. Some believe that He has come and not going to come again. Others believe that He has not come at all. Yet, we have some remnants who are believing He is coming. When? Should we say we know the time? But He said, “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” All we need to know and hold unto is, He will come. He is coming! Simply put.

When He comes, some people would be unprepared and so derailed that nothing would have saved them. By then, many would discover that all they have been out for, all we have been dying to get, all we have laboured for, all we have lived for and built together are but nothing – dungs they are. Won’t this be agony and bitterness to the heart? Definitely, it would be. These are they that would surely weep. Note this that, His coming, as it would be a source of mourning to some (…cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.), it would be a source of glory and rejoicing to the others (Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.). So where do we fit?

HEAVEN AND EARTH SHALL PASS AWAY: BUT MY WORDS SHALL NOT PASS AWAY – Luke 21:33

In this world where you can no longer hold people by their words, who then can we trust? If there is anyone in whom we can believe and trust, He should be the Person who said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.” What a relief to find and have a person you can hold by His word! He said, He would come, what do we have anymore within us to make us doubt Him. All His words are yea and Amen, why should we doubt Him? God is not a man that He should lie. Have you forgotten? He said, “And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.”

“Be continually expecting these things. Do not forget them, and do not be secure and satisfied with this life and the good things which it furnishes. Do not suffer yourselves to be drawn into the fashions of the world; to be conformed to its customs; to partake of its feasts and revelry; and so these calamities shall come upon you when you least expect them.”

And from this we may learn – what alas! we may from the lives of many professing Christians – that there is need of cautioning the disciples of Jesus now that they do not indulge in the festivities of this life, and forget that they are to die and come to judgment. How many, alas! who bear the Christian name, have forgotten this caution of the Saviour, and live as if their lives were secure; as if they feared not death; as if there were no heaven and no judgment! Christians should feel that they are soon to die, and that their portion is not in this life; and, feeling this, they should be looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God

Our Saviour having thus warned them of these sins, He next exhorts them to watchfulness;  Watch ye, therefore, for as a snare that day will come upon you; that is, very suddenly, and very unexpectedly: a snare has a threefold property, to catch suddenly, to hold sure, to destroy certainly.  Our Lord's coming to Jerusalem was very unexpected, and His coming to us by death and judgment will steal upon us if we are not watchful.

Watch ye then, for our Lord will come; at what hour he will come cannot certainly be known; there is no time in which we can promise or assure ourselves, that our Lord will not come; the time of our whole life is little enough to prepare for His coming.  Our preparation for, will be no acceleration or hastening of, our Lord's coming.  And oh, how dreadful will His coming be, if we be found off our watch, and altogether unready for His appearance:  we must in judgment see Him when He appears, but shall not be able to stand in the judgment; we shall as a judge see Christ, but not behold Him as a redeemer to some.

Behold, He is coming!

INFALLIBILITY GREETINGS TO YOU ALL
