 JESUS HAD SAID IT – Part III

The will of God concerning us in Christ Jesus is to give thanks always. Anything that won’t permit this to be, is totally unwanted and ready to be destroyed by the power of the word from God’s mouth. For as long as we have this knowledge that, God of peace will bruise satan under our feet shortly, AND NOT JUST SHORTLY BUT FOREVER It is not a light thing before men, that a man should bruise the devil but with God it is very light and with Him nothing is impossible. Our thanksgiving should not and cannot be impossible as well, no matter how insurmountable and difficult the present situation and circumstances surrounding us may seem. In fact, it is very much possible to rejoice having this understanding that, “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Though in heaviness of heart, we rejoice because when Christ who is our Hope shall appear we shall receive the crown of life which fades not.

AND YE SHALL HEAR OF WARS AND RUMOURS OF WARS: SEE THAT YE BE NOT TROUBLED: FOR ALL THESE THINGS MUST COME TO PASS, BUT THE END IS NOT YET – Matthew 24:6

We were told by Jesus that we should hear and see rumours of war but of a truth it is happening in our very own cities, countries, neighbourhood, and nations. People can fight for and because of anything ranging from position, to women/men, money, they can even fight for greetings (oh, why didn’t you greet me? you know all those stuffs right?) and so do countries. They war and fight for anything; territories, border, supremacy, colonies, etc. You hear USA fighting China today, South Africans and their xenophobia tomorrow, Russia and Germany the day following, Iran and Iraq…Are you surprised? You think all these are just for camouflages? You better think again. We have been told ahead of time that they would surely happen. And another thing that real pulls us off our feet is that we have been informed and made aware by Jesus that, “we should not be troubled because these things would come to pass.” Let us ask ourselves this question now, who is more troubled than us? We are troubled within and without. This is not good. If we had not been told it is understandable but where then is the cause of this fear, glittering and shakings coming from since we have been told?

Wars and battles are dated back to almost when the earth began. Satan has been warring against many who have been holding unto the testimony of Jesus from age to age, from the beginning till now and it is still going on till the time when the end and the New Heaven and Earth evidentially manifested. Don’t be surprised because there was war in heaven also – “And there was war in heaven:”, that is the reason new heaven and a new earth would be needed. That is just by the way. What manner of people are we to be in communication and behaviour having this understanding. Are we to fret and to be afraid? Are to cuddle up, shut up, roll up, fold up and give up and do all sorts of “UPs” that is adversely and negatively rooted in unbelief? What should be our expectation? Would things get better? Would war ever stop? These questions may not be fully or satisfactorily answered in relating to you but all we know is that, things would surely go and get worse before they get better. And when we talk of a better end, we mean in the New Heaven and the New Earth. A world ordered and controlled by our Lord Jesus and we His elects. I know many still have their doubts. But to whom should we give our trust, those that have their doubts or God and our Saviour who promised us a better thing?

FOR NATION SHALL RISE AGAINST NATION, AND KINGDOM AGAINST KINGDOM: AND THERE SHALL BE FAMINES, AND PESTILENCES, AND EARTHQUAKES, IN DIVERS PLACES – Matthew 24:7

Another point which we need to deliberate upon is peace. We all love peace. Truly, we all do. But none is more surprised about the state of perplexity, anxiety, trouble, unrest, and every form of disasters happening around than we who had been told. These things should not be. The peace of man had been tampered with from only God knows when after God gave dominion and His blessing to us to rule and be fruitful. This must have been the reason the accuser of the brethren fought valiantly and blatantly to wrestle with men in order to tarnish this testimony and dominion given to us by God. We all want peace, we need peace. What could be so surprising to us would be to know that when we observe that we are the cause of this lack of peace. If others are behaving contrary to us, no problem. But if it is discovered that, we are the reason behind the uproar – professing to be children of God then we become liars and hypocrites.

To cut the long story short, when we see kingdom rising against kingdom as we now see them to be in finance, economy, education, health and others; seeing famine here and there, pestilence killing left and right, oh, don’t let us forget earthquakes and earth tremors – all this trouble our hearts. When the challenges of the earth make the heart sink, like a song writer said, “I may not know what you are going through today, the sorrow, the hardship, the pain. Although the mountains crumble, and the oceans rage, and war against my soul the devil may wage. Though the tempest might have turned our smiles upside down, and life like a river of sorrow in which we drown. Yet we will stand unshaken for as long as it lasts.” Faithful is He that promised and it shall come to pass. If God be for us then who can stand against us. The God who spoke all the earth into form. He said, let there be light, let it be bright, let there be day, let there be night. Out of the sound of His voice, birds, fishes and trees did come. The mountains melt like wax, the hills skip like young cows at the sound of the God that we serve, our help in ages past, our hope for years to come. Besides Thee Oh Lord, we have no other.

Whether on the mountain or in the valley, amidst peace and trouble, let this blessed hope of assurance be in us that, “Behold, Jesus had said it.” We have been told. Comfort yourselves with these words. MARANATHA!
