THE SURE ABODE

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in Me – John 15:4.”

Jesus Christ is the Truth. He is the sure abode. Let us abide in truth. It pays to abide in truth. There are reasons for this. Just as we have said that Jesus is the truth, we shall refer to truth in the context as a person and not just a thing, feeling or emotion.

Truth gives light to overcome and to walk in darkness. Truth gives light. So, any man living in truth is dwelling in light. Truth saves from deception and its effects. Many a mighty man have been made to lose their strength by the reason of deceit and flattery. As for truth, He preserves strength.

Truth comes with a standard of assurance as touching knowledge. It is not all kinds of knowledge that is power or beneficial. The knowledge based on truth is the powerful one. Truth gives a dimension of boldness to those who abide and walk in it. those who walk and abide in truth are called the elect that is why they cannot be deceived easily. Jesus said, if it were possible, they would even deceive the very elects. This means it is not possible.

Nothing is real if not founded on truth. Even love is not love indeed if not founded on truth. No wonder we hear people say fake love.

Now, Jesus Christ told us that He is the truth. Any man that is not in Christ does not know or have the truth irrespective of how highly or lowly placed he or she may be. The habitation of lies is not5 sure. The abode of deception and deceitfulness is not sure. A life of hypocrisy and double-face cannot and will never last.

The magnificent edifice you see around in the world presently shall pass away. In fact, no two stones shall be left upon each other – all shall be destroyed. These buildings and glamorous precipice upon which people have chosen to have their choice houses built shall one day be melted with fire. Listen to this carefully, one day the fire of God shall come upon this abode of yours whether it is made of gold, silver, wood, stone, stubble or whatever – if it is not in Christ, it is not sure.

There are people who have made wealth their abode. They lean on their education as the place of refuge. Others sole trust in their connections and intellectual prowess and in them they hide themselves from the stormy blasts of this world. O professor, that place you are hiding is not sure. The earlier the better for you to leave and trust on Jesus Christ. If you don’t, you shall call upon the very rock you have been hiding behind to fall upon you.

Beloved, your sure abode shouldn’t be your strength. Strength fails and the arm of flesh will surely disappoint. Riches cannot save in the day of wrath. It is good to plan. The truth about planning is this, things don’t always go the way they are planned majorly because man hasn’t learnt to receive his plan from God –

“The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD – Pro. 16:33.”

In conclusion, Christ Jesus is your sure abode. He is the truth. The truth will surely last to the end, yea the truth will last forever. Abide in truth. Whatever you gather by lies will diminish and in the long run shall vanish away. Let the Word of God be your Guide. The flower will fade. The grass will wither. Beauty will become ashes but the Truth of the Word of God abides forever. Do you like to abide forever? Abide in truth.
