Whenever the word labour comes to mind, we think of toiling, suffering, stress and other unpleasant situations. Little did we know that there's more to this than it appears. FOR WE ARE LABOURERS TOGETHER WITH GOD:... 1 Corinthians:3:9. Really? Then this shouldn't mean what you are thinking; for God cannot toil, suffer neither can He be stressed.
The labourers we are examining here are of the kingdom of God... Are you a labourer? What's your labour? Aren't you labouring for that which will perish? Remember Jesus said, *LABOUR NOT FOR THE MEAT WHICH PERISHETH...JOHN:6:27 This has to do with your heart also ... FOR WHERE YOUR TREASURE IS, THERE WILL YOUR HEART BE ALSO... The act of laying up treasure is labouring.
We have pastors many, but few labourers. There are multitudes of Pharisees, scribes, priests, of Reverend and Right Reverend men, Most Senior Apostle Dr. Pro. Pst. Men with many titles, ; but there are few that work. Jesus wishes for labourers not speakers/gentlemen. PRAY YE THEREFORE..., THAT HE WILL SEND FORTH LABOURERS INTO HIS HARVEST. Matthew:9:38
We're gradually losing our youths, marriages, souls to decadence...or what will become of the ripe harvest where there are no harvesters (LABOURERS)? God would rather increase the harvest than reduce the labourers.
As someone rightly said, "the day is short, the work is great, the workmen idle, the reward abundant, and the master of the household is urgent." In all worldly concern, if there be the prospect of much gain, most men are willing enough to labour; but if it be to save their own souls, or the souls of others, what indolence, backwardness, and carelessness! While their adversary, the devil 😈, is going about as a roaring lion 🦁, seeking whom he may devour, and a careless soul, and especially a careless minister is his special prey. DON'T BE A PREY TO THE DEVIL, BE A LABOURER WITH OR FOR GOD.
Finally, of a truth, indeed, THE HARVEST IS RIPE AND PLENTEOUS. That your friend, course-mate, colleague at work, neighbour and your family members are ripe for harvest. LABOUR FOR THEIR SOUL. If care is not taken, it's possible you're held accountable for their rotten harvest.
