PRAYER: AND JONAH PRAYED

PRAYER: Then Jonah Prayed ----Jonah 2:1

I think, everyone of us, ought to know that there is more to prayer than we have ever known. For more than or close to five/six hundred decades, the place of prayer could not be underrated neither can you overestimate it.

What can we do without prayer? Some people stipulated theory that, "when you pray, God sends angels but when you praise, God comes down". What does it matter? Why I won't dispute this, I'm neither in support of it. However, in my opinion, I perceive they don't understand PRAYER.

Prayer has been one of the most powerful tool God ever gave to man to use withal. And began men to call unto to name of the Lord (Gen. 4:26). Abraham built an altar and called upon the name of the Lord (Gen. 12:8). Deborah, Samson, Gideon, Saul, David, Solomon, Isaiah, Jeremiah, even the obstinate Jonah, as you may want to call him, all prayed. I hear someone said, that's the old testament. Maybe or maybe not.

Jesus preached all day long and prayed all-night as well (Luke 6:12). Paul, Silas, Peter, John prayed. You should remember Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, they couldn't do without this.

Some sets of people try hard as much as possible to separate praise from prayer. Why the stress? Should ignorance take advantage of you always? Don't try to put difference to what God hasn't. Prayer as a multidimensional tool: in it we have praise, thanksgiving, supplication, worship, groaning, Godly sorrow, ..... If not, I wonder why Jesus said, "...men ought always to pray"---Luke 18:1.

However, without further ado, we pray for and because of many reasons. When in joy, gladness, and happiness, we pray (we should pray). So did David and others. Likewise, when bitterness, sorrow, guilt, depression, and other forms of negativity surround you, neither give-in nor surrender but pray. To whom you pray matters and why.

Notwithstanding, you shouldn't be discouraged from praying. Words like, pray without ceasing, be careful for nothing...but in prayer, unto You that hearest prayer, are not in vain or for déco.

Prayer provides an atmosphere of and environment for serenity, cure and comfort.
