WISDOM OF EGYPT

 “Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land – Exodus 1:10.”

In the book of James, the Lord made it known to us in the scriptures that there four kinds of wisdom, namely: devilish, sensual, earthly and that which is from above.

“This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish – James 3:15.”
With this it should be settled in our heart that there seems to be diverse kinds of wisdom in this world. It is important to know the true wisdom.

We must exercise our heart in Spirit to know what kind of wisdom is in operation. What the world calls wisdom is different from what God calls wisdom. Remember, Jesus Christ once said –

“…for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light – Luke 16:8.”
This is not to commend the world or the generation therein to mean they are wise because the word used just before this is unjust. definitely, our Lord Jesus could not possibly called whatever is unjust to be wise or wisdom. Never! His word is settled. He is not a liar.

Christian, mind what the world presents to you as wisdom. Caution! Yes, draw caution from here. The world has its way of presenting some matters making them to seem they are wise or acceptable. As for you, O man of God, take heed and watch unto prayers.

Among all dimensions of wisdom which the Egyptians exercised, we shall be focus on one. In the text above, we see that the Egyptians called the way and method of reducing the people of God to be wisdom. Christian, beware, whatever the world is presenting to you making it appeal to you as wisdom. It is not wisdom; it is to reduce you. What I am about to say now could be controversial but I will utter it all the same. Could it be that what we now call family-planning is one of the wisdom of Egypt? Don’t be hasty to refute. Think about it and may the Lord give you understanding. Amen.

As a believer at your place of work, it is clear to you that everything committed to you is prospering. Just like Joseph in the land of Egypt. His master discovered that everything in his care was prospering. When this is taking place, beware of the wisdom of Egypt coming to you in form of pleasant offers, cushioning but dangerous incentives and evil-intended promotion and association. Mark these things for they are parts of the various ways the wisdom of Egypt is targeted towards the way-faring Israelite to make him err and to reduce him. This is true in the case of Joseph. The wise of Potiphar came to seduce him. Wicked counsellors would have been telling Joseph to jump on the offer. But the man with whom God dwelled knew accurately that –

“For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life – Pro. 6:26.”

O Israel, Israel, O Israel. Unto you is this world written and spoken. Pilgrim, if you are sure and you know you belong to the heavenly Israel give heed to this word. AS AN ISREALITE, EVERY WISDOM FO EGYPT TOWARDS YOU IS TO REDUCE YOU. Christian, this is the same with you. Every act of wisdom the world seems to show you, is to reduce you. The wisdom of Egypt is not pure, is not gentle and it is not peaceable.

Finally, there is a wisdom that is higher, better and incomparable to that of Egypt. This is for us to seek. It is written – “…Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God – 1Cor. 1:24.” Jesus Christ is the True wisdom.

I hate it when something unpleasant happens but what lacerate me the most is the comment people give as "what will be will be." This statement makes it sound as if we cannot do anything about it.
