SWEETS AND TRAPS

“Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant – Proverbs 9:17.”

Devil’s wiles haven’t changed. His antics, whims and devices are ever the same. The ways and methods he is accustomed to aren’t gonna change anytime soon. Like Jeremiah wrote, we could as well apply it to him that –

“Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil – Jer. 13:23.”
Since we know that it is the blessing of the Lord that maketh rich and He addeth no sorrow to it, the devil’s own is similar but in the opposite direction. The “blessing” of the devil maketh poorer because of the sorrow he adds to and with it.

Would God that I have the tongue of the angels to describe the sweetness of stolen waters and the pleasantness of the bread eaten in secret. Also, having received grace to explain the foregoing, may He grant me also the utterance to elucidate the results and aftermath of the activities that those involved would be able to know that the end is death and are heading to the depths of hell – Pro. 9:18.

Let all the Adams be informed that though the fruit is good for the eyes and food, it is pleasant to the eyes but it is a trap. Hearken not to the suggestion of the tempter. Let not his words mean much to you as would dust before the wind.

Potiphars’ wives of whatever shapes, sizes, statuses and positions are still beautiful, enticing and attractive. Be on your guard. Let the Josephs be aware that they [the wives of Potiphars] are the traps capable of hindering them from ascending the throne. Learn from Samson the ways and methods sweetness and traps beautifully combined to bring about the fall of the mighty.

Reuben, Reuben, beware climbing your father’s couch. It may be sweet now but the end shall be of curse and lost of birthright and generational heritage. And to the Simon Peters, listen to the voice of the Master unto you this day. Simon, Simon, Satan has desired to sift you like a wheat. Your boastings and claims appear to be sweet and pleasant but they are not in alignment with the will of God in the word which He has written. O Lord Jesus, pray for us still to overcome this sifting.

Young man, the accuser of the brethren knows that the love of money is still in vogue. He has been persuading you just to believe that it is sweet. But wait and hearken to this warning. Though he has shown you the sweetness therein, have your eyes been opened to see depth of the miseries thereafter? Hast thou entered into the storehouse of pain and agony for those who in pursuant of money lost their soul? May the Lord reveal to you the time of trouble which is reserved for those who are enticed by the sweetness of the devil’s lies so that it can be a terror unto you to make you return from this damnable journey.

Let the Davids be warned that the sweetness of the Uriahs’ wives is an invitation for perpetual devouring swords in the family. Ah, Alas my brother. Alas my brother. Do not let the devil make the old prophet deceive or persuade you into eating the delicacies of disobedience. May you not be found dining thinking it is king’s dainties but unknown to you that it is the bread of sorrow and water of affliction. So, is Satan’s meal to those who follow his way. Sweet but it is a trap.

Fools, the Psalmist said, because of their transgressions and because of their iniquity are afflicted. Same goes to fishes without discretion. They see the baits but unaware of the hook underneath. They see the sweet but the death is hidden from them. So, is the devil unto those that trust him.

Therefore, come to the Fountain of every blessing, Jesus Christ, and be saved. His is sweet without trap.

CAUTIOUS GREETINGS
